📚About the Program

Do you work in a preschool and want to train as a preschool teacher? Preschool teacher training, flexible version, is provided remotely with a scheduled day a week. The program is based on your own and course mates' experiences of working in preschool. Preschool teacher education flexible variant is a preschool teacher education for educational professionals and is aimed at you who have worked at least five years in a preschool and want to train as a preschool teacher. The flexible variant is a distance education that is mainly carried out digitally. The education offers flexibility by building on your previous experiences and knowledge from work in preschool, with the aim of further developing and deepening these in the meeting between theory and practice. Each course has a scheduled day of the week, preferably held during the latter part of the week. Most of the teaching takes place via Zoom. Campus-based days occur during the education. These are partly aimed at relational contacts with course mates, teachers and the university in general. Partly as in-depth work in certain courses, mainly the subject didactic courses in semesters three and four. Campus-based days are combined within a course and a maximum of four in number over a semester. You study the education remotely, and thus have the opportunity to work to some extent alongside your studies. You have scheduled teaching one day a week, but since the education is given full-time, time is required for the studies in addition to this day. You are expected to be active in discussion forums, collaborate in small groups, carry out tasks in preschool activities and conduct self-study such as reading literature and taking part in recorded presentations and lectures. In the pre-school teacher training, you study courses in pedagogical, didactic and care ethics knowledge areas to prepare you for work as a pre-school teacher. The education gives you theoretical deepening in central areas, practical application through your work in preschool as well as operational courses (practice) at a preschool. In the flexible version of the pre-school teacher education, you as a student are offered a combined validation process for the crediting of knowledge and skills in semesters 1 and 4. This may result in the length of the education being shortened based on granted crediting of courses (see more under the heading "Validation of prior knowledge and skills") . At Malmö University, there are three versions of pre-school teacher training: Pre-school teacher training, Pre-school teacher training with a music profile and Flexible variant. Show less
