Program outcomes
Apply critical thinking skills and fundamental knowledge of truck and coach operation, components, and their interrelationships to identify basic system problems
Identify and service fundamental truck and coach engine components and subsystems to maintain optimal engine longevity that complies with manufacturers’ specifications
Identify and service fundamental truck and coach electrical components and systems to maintain component performance that complies with manufacturers’ specifications
Identify and service fundamental truck and coach drive train components and systems to maintain the drive train’s peak operational condition that complies with manufacturers’ specifications
Identify and service fundamental truck and coach suspension, steering, brakes, and wheel end components to maintain vehicle integrity that complies with manufacturers’ specifications
Assess fundamental truck and coach fuel components and subcomponents using a variety of basic test equipment to maintain fuel component function that complies with manufacturers’ specifications
Identify and inspect fluid power components using basic testing procedures and equipment to maintain fluid power components that comply with manufacturers’ specifications
Use information technology to access manufacturer maintenance, repair specifications, updates and procedures for truck and coach
Use customer service and communication best practices to support client and business relationships in a truck and coach repair facility
Develop and use personal and professional strategies and plans to improve professional growth, job performance, and work relationships
Complete all assigned work, logs, records, and documentation to comply with industry standards; established policies and procedures; codes and regulations; and in accordance with ethical and environmentally responsible principles
Use hoisting and rigging techniques to safely support, move and extract truck and coach components in accordance with industry standards
Perform soldering operations, welding and cutting using oxy fuel welding using GMAW to repair various truck and coach components
