In order to successfully complete the MSc HRM, you will undertake all core modules across three terms, with the MSc Project to be completed in term 3. You are required to obtain 60 credits each term, amounting to 180 credits for the entire programme. The sections below show the programme structure.
In term 1, you will be studying the following modules:

Academic Term 1
The programme is designed around the development of a fundamental understanding of HRM in term 1 (without assuming prior knowledge), and is catered for by the following core modules:
HRM in Context (20 Credits): explores the impact of the external environment upon the organisation and its organisational and HR strategies and HR practices.
HR Professional Skills (20 Credits): supports students in developing key HR skills, such as working and leading effectively as well as professional and ethical approaches to HRM.
Leading and Managing People (20 Credits): evaluates the aims of the HRM and HRD functions and major theories relating to motivation, commitment and engagement at work.
Academic Term 2
Term 2 develops a deeper understanding of various HR areas, and provides our students with the necessary skills to successfully complete their MSc Project:
Resourcing and Managing Talent (20 Credits): analyses resourcing, talent management and retention strategies and evaluates the link to organisational performance.
Performance & Reward Management (20 Credits): explores the relationship between the organisational environment and systems of performance and reward management.
Managing Employee Relations (10 Credits): assesses the context and the main actors involved, and develops skills required for effective employee relations management.
Research Design & Methods (10 Credits): develops an understanding of the conduct of research, incl. methodological theories, data collection and analysis, ethical conduct, etc.
Academic Term 3
Term 3 allows students to combine all the knowledge gained through the taught elements in terms 1 and 2 through the completion of the MSc Project:
MSc Project (60 Credits): provides students with the opportunity to undertake a sustained, rigorous and independent investigation of a human resource management topic.
