Professional Practice Skills Issues and Ethics

This module helps enhance your commitment to the ethical principles of respect competence responsibility and integrity in addition to developing your applied skills in conducting ethically sound practice and research within a forensic context. The practice issues are discussed within the contexts of client groups introduced in earlier modules.
Applied Forensic Research Skills

This module introduces you to some of the main concepts associated with planning designing and conducting applied forensic research. You’ll be guided through a cycle of activity: including critical literature review; identifying a relevant research question study design; and the consideration of ethical frameworks that apply to their research.
Assessment and Management

You’ll be introduced to the range of assessments and interventions used within forensic settings becoming familiar with exploring and evaluating the assessments. You’ll evaluate the theoretical foundation of interventions and examine programmes conducted within forensic settings and those used with ex-prisoner populations within the community.
Journey of Change – Forensic Focus

This module is a blend of forensic psychology and positive psychology. It provides a critical exploration of the process of change focusing on its challenging nature and how it is experienced in reality and specifically in forensic settings. These ideas will be explored through reference to models of adult development.
The investigative & Criminal Justice Context

This module aims to promote an in-depth understanding of the relationship between psychology and police and psychology and law by showing how psychological research and theory can inform the investigative legal and criminal process. It focuses on issues relating to the psychology inherent in police and courtroom proceedings.
