Humber College offers a two-year diploma program in Esthetician/Spa Management to prepare graduates for a career in the beauty industry. The course of study combines theoretical and practical knowledge to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to work as a manager in a spa or skin care clinic. The curriculum covers topics such as skin anatomy and physiology, product knowledge, business administration, retail marketing, salon operations, and spa management. Students learn a range of techniques and services, including facial treatments, body treatments, and make-up application. Theory classes are also included in the program, covering the business side of the industry, such as human resources, accounting, and marketing. Through hands-on learning and a variety of practical experiences, students develop communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. There are also opportunities for students to gain additional certification and gain experience through field placements.
