    If you want to study abroad as a Nigerian student, you will need to begin your research and preparations early! You will need to first choose a destination.<\/p>\n

    2. Which climate do you want to study in–warm all year, or with a cold winter?<\/li>\n
    3. How far away from home do you want to study?<\/li>\n
    4. What is your budget to study abroad?<\/li>\n
    5. Do you want to study in a country with a large African\/Nigerian population, or immerse yourself in a different culture?<\/li>\n

      Prepare Grades and Test Scores<\/h3>\n

      You will need to monitor your grades and make sure that you are passing all your classes. Most universities will not accept students with less than a 70% average score. If you want to study an advanced subject like medicine, chemistry, or engineering, you will need high grades in mathematics and science courses.<\/p>\n

      What are the exams required for Nigerian students to study abroad?<\/p>\n

      You will first need an English exam if you want to study in English. We recommend you choose one of the following and meet the basic score requirements:<\/p>\n

      1. TOEFL (minimum score of 80 on the internet based test)<\/li>\n
      2. IELTS (minimum score of 6)<\/li>\n
      3. Cambridge C1\/C2 exam (minimum score 170)<\/li>\n
      4. Duolingo English Test (minimum score 100)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        If you want to study in another language, such as Chinese or French, you will need to take that country’s language exam. For example, to study in Chinese in China, you need to get an HSK 5 score. To study in Spanish in South America, you need to take the university’s Spanish entrance exam.<\/p>\n

        Documents Nigerians Need to Study Abroad<\/h3>\n

        You will need to prepare the following documents to study abroad:<\/p>\n

        1. Passport<\/li>\n
        2. Transcripts from previous degrees<\/li>\n
        3. Diplomas from previous degrees<\/li>\n
        4. Personal statement essay<\/li>\n
        5. Application form for the university<\/li>\n
        6. Language proficiency certification (TOEFL or IELTS for English, or your target country\u2019s language exam)<\/li>\n
        7. Resume\/CV<\/li>\n
        8. National Test scores (SAT, AP, ACT, GRE, A-Levels, IB diploma, etc)<\/li>\n
        9. Letters of Recommendation<\/li>\n
        10. Entrance exams for your university<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              These scholarships are offered by the university. They will decide which students get scholarships by looking at your application materials.                 These scholarships are offered by the governments of the country you will go study. You can find the information on the government’s website or their ministry of education.
