This module introduces tourism as it relates to human society and explains how social science disciplines explain the tourism phenomenon. Gain an understanding of the relationship between tourism and the socio-cultural economic political contexts in which it functions. You’re also introduced to concepts and issues on accessibility in tourism.
Hospitality and Service Operations

This module aims to position hospitality and service as fundamental operations of the travel and tourism industry. You’ll learn about regulatory frameworks relevant to the accommodation and hospitality sectors and reflect on these in the context of the customer facing industry.
Tourism Destinations and Attractions

This module examines key aspects of tourism geography and introduces you to a broad survey of tourist-generating regions destination countries and tourist flows. You’ll further develop your working knowledge of the spatial patterns of tourism and an overview of the development of tourist destinations and the various types of tourist attractions.
Airport Operations

You’ll learn how airports function as business organisations including the day-to-day management and operation of both the airside and landside environments. Large airports require the management of diverse tasks for effective operations and this module will include case studies and engagement with airport staff to bring this industry to life.

This module allows you to analyse and understand the difference between leisure and business tourism by focusing on the different sectors encompassed by the business travel market. The impacts of business tourism and the significance of the sector for destinations are also explored.
Contemporary Tourism

This module enables you to investigate analyse and evaluate the range and scope of opportunities in tourism in relation to changes in consumer needs and expectations. You’ll undertake analysis of how world tourism trends are changing and what these mean for destinations communities dependent on tourism and developers of new tourism products.
Sustainability and Responsible Tourism

The overall goal for global society is sustainable development and so travel tourism and hospitality are expected to implement business practice with responsibility and adopt sustainability management principles. You’ll learn about how management that reflects a more responsible and sustainable approach can be applied.
Research Methods

Aviation Experience Project

This immersive aviation project will provide a full-time week (37 hours) of aviation experience to bring the study of aviation to life. Key trips and visits including overseas opportunities will mean learners explore the world of aviation making connections with industry professionals and visiting key industry settings.

You will explore topics including dark tourism sex tourism and animal tourism. Topics including behavioural and motivational factors working conditions animal sentience ethical implications and welfare conditions will be studied. Finally the module focuses on the role of safety and security in the development of tourism products.
Managing Tourism Organisations

This module will help you to acquire develop and enhance your awareness knowledge and understanding of essential theories and concepts relating to the principles of human talent management. You’ll develop a practical understanding of how leaders and senior management make decisions about the strategy and direction within their organisation.

Entry Requirements

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.

Minimum education level: High School.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
