The BEng Engineering Management is practically-orientated, focusing on planning and the continuous improvement of engineering applications. You will develop your team working skills while undertaking a wide range of practical work in our industry-standard facilities.

In recent students have taken part in group visits to industry specialists such as BAE, Tata Steel and Diageo to further deepen their understanding of the subject.

The programme incorporates a certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course with the option of undertaking a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course.

If you are a part-time student, in Year 3 you are recommended to undertake the 20-credit Workplace Learning (Mech) module. Again, if you are a part-time student in Year 4, you are also encouraged to undertake the 40-credit WBL4 - Industrial Project module. This option is only available to you if you are in employment within a relevant company and can be provided with a suitable industrial project. Please note, if you undertake this 40-credit module, you must also complete the 40-credit Final Year Project module.

If you are a full-time student then you are encouraged to undertake a 20-credit version of the WBL4 - Industrial Project module. This module is designed to provide you with an opportunity to gain experience of undertaking project work at a strategic level within or for an organisation.

Work placement opportunities available through the School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences allow students to put theory into practice in real-world business environments.
