The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) Emergency Management Concentration may be for you if you are a current or aspiring emergency services professional wanting to advance your knowledge or career. In order to enter this program, you'll need to have an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences with a technical or vocational major from a Council for Higher Education (CHEA)-recognized organization. ENMU offers two concentration areas as part of our BAAS. The average time frame for completing a BAAS degree at ENMU is two years. Emergency management is the discipline of dealing with and avoiding risk through emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation. Successful emergency management involves individuals, groups and communities working together to manage hazards. To be able to build disaster resistant and resilient communities, a broad range of future and current professionals need courses that introduce them to hazards, risk, vulnerability, disasters, and how to handle them.
