PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
YEAR 1
You will be given a general introduction to all aspects of modern biology and encouraged to acquire general scientific skills

YEAR 2
You will develop your knowledge of fundamental aspects of biology You will then be introduced to specialist subject areas according to your interests

You can also study other subjects in 1 and 2 see Flexible degrees

YEARS 3 4 AND 5
If you progress to Honours ( 3 and 4) you will focus on proteins and nucleic acids as the key molecules in understanding living organisms including viruses bacteria plants and animals including humans There is a strong emphasis on practical laboratory work allowing you hands-on experience of major techniques including DNA technology characterisation of proteins and bioinformatics Your fourth will feature a research project a dissertation and advanced-level Honours option courses

Biochemistry can be taken as an which includes an additional placement between the third and final of the degree This is normally spent doing research in industry or an organisation such as a research institute in the UK or overseas

The final-year optional courses may be subject to change each Places on particular optional courses may be limited

Initially you will study the key foundations of Life Sciences via lectures and practical lab classes First Biology is split into two courses with a different biological focus in each

You will develop your knowledge of fundamental aspects of biology and be introduced to specialist subject areas according to your interests (eg animal biology; biomolecular sciences; human biology; infection biology)

  • Register when you arrive - its not possible to reserve a room before arriving. You can arrive a few days before and book it

Entry Requirements

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.

Minimum education level: High School.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
