📖Program Curriculum
In year one, you will cover a foundation in linguistics before examining popular myths and truths about language and how language is represented in the mind. You will also be able to choose two other optional modules e.g. you could take a module in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or learn a new language.
In year two, you will follow a prescribed programme including sociolinguistics, child language and literacy, working with practitioners, psycholinguistics of language accquistion, discourse analysis, and be trained in using software tools for applied linguistics.
In year three, you will be trained on how to conduct independent research and carry out a research project. You will also follow modules on forensic linguistics, atypical language accquistion, language in the media, and language policy and planning.
