Nipissing Universities’ relatively small size provides a huge advantage for students in terms of increased opportunities to get involved while not sacrificing on course offerings. The Psychology Department offers a full slate of courses that cover all major areas of the discipline. Students can choose between the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree programs when they study Psychology at Nipissing University. The main difference between the two degree options is in the electives you choose. BA students will take humanities and social science elective courses (e.g., English, Philosophy, Criminal Justice, Sociology, and History), while BSc students will take electives from the sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics). 📖Program Curriculum

In addition to the program requirements listed below, students must also satisfy the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree requirements, which include regulations on first year and subject maximum and breadth requirements.

Program Requirements:
Students will need to achieve a minimum 70% average in the 60 credits presented for the Honours Specialization in Psychology.

Students must complete PSYC 1106, PSYC 1107, PSYC 2126, PSYC 2127 and PSYC 3356 or PSYC 3346 with a minimum grade of 60% in each.

Students must complete 120 credits including 60 credits in the Honours Specialization as follows:
PSYC 1106 Introduction to Psychology I
PSYC 1107 Introduction to Psychology II
PSYC 2126 Scientific Method and Analysis I
PSYC 2127 Scientific Method and Analysis II

Design and Analysis I or
Research Methods in Psychological Science

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.

Minimum education level: High School.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
