📚About the Program

This is a two-year part-time course designed to prepare students for careers as Electrical Services Engineering Technicians. The programme has been designed in close consultation with the Electrical Services Industry. Students will become computer literate and will also develop expertise in the technical areas necessary to use software packages for electrical design. The course will provide a wide knowledge base, which will enable the student to specialise in different areas of interest. Subjects include the following: AutoCAD, Industrial Electronics & PLC control, Computer Applications, Project Management and Electrical Estimating, Electrical Services Design, Electrical Services Plant, Building services. The final year includes a major project. Learning Outcomes: Provide a deep seated learning environment for students Produce graduates who will exercise technical skills in a scientific and practical way, which will enable them to perform to a high level of expertise in modern industry Enable graduates to develop communication, personal and interpersonal skills Educate graduates on the environmental impact of energy use Give graduates the knowledge skills and competence to operate plant and equipment in the most energy efficient way. Enable graduates to integrate renewable energy technologies in buildings Allow linkage and transfer to Electrical, Building Services and other engineering programmes within TU Dublin and further afield Having completed the course the students will be able to: Work as a technical member of a design team Design industrial and commercial electrical installations Use BIM software to produce and revise technical drawings Design and operate automated systems for industrial plant Employ standard estimating and tendering techniques for electrical services applications Implement data transfer systems used for computer control Employ modern application software such as Excel, Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent software, etc. Write technical reports using Power Point, Word etc. Develop a personal career portfolio Implement the design and control of modern building environments Prepare safety technical reports and carry out risk assessments Configure machine /human interfaces Demonstrate capability in problem solving, analysis, and decision making Provide technical systems support for manufacturing industries Describe and compare different renewable energy technologies suitable for integration in buildings Implement renewable energy system for a building Evaluate the environmental impact of energy use Show less

Entry Requirements

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.

Minimum education level: High School.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
